Frantic Co-Op Shooting Meets Diablo in New Game Livelock

A post-apocalyptic twin-stick shooter.

Livelock, the upcoming cooperative shooter from developer Tuque Games, reminds me of Diablo, if Diablo's characters had guns in the post-apocalyptic future.

Livelock features an isometric view of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, after a massive Gamma ray has obliterated all human life. You play as one of three robots as they fight across war torn battlefields collecting loot and destroying waves of enemies.

Developer Tuque Games showed us a demo of the game recently (shown in the video below). Although it looks frantic, there appears to be a lot of strategy involved as you adapt to new enemy types, switch between your weapons, and use power abilities at the right time. It's unclear if that level of strategy will encompass the entire game, but from the mission we saw, Livelock looks to be a fine-tuned twin-stick shooter.

Although Livelock is designed to be played cooperatively, its balance allows for solo playthroughs as well. Livelock releases later this year for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
