Fortnite: Where To Collect Foraged Items - Week 4 Legendary Quest

The final Legendary Quest this week is written like a note left by Farmer Steel: "forage for food, need supplies!"

Comments

If you've made it this far, you're hoping to collect foraged items as part of the Fortnite Week 4 challenges. This challenge was initially written weirdly in-game like a frantic note left behind by the missing-in-action Farmer Steel, saying "forage for food, need supplies!" By the time the quest went live, however, it was changed to "collect foraged items." What it seems to mean relates to the previous quest where we learned Farmer Steel is likely hiding out in a bunker while the alien-IO war rages on. Here's where to find food supplies so you can close out your Week 4 challenges.

Fortnite: Collect Foraged Items Locations

For this final challenge of the week, you'll want to head to any spot where foraged items grow in the ground. Some of the best hot spots are places like:

  • The swamp near Slurpy Swamp (Slurp Shrooms)
  • The apple trees near The Orchard, north of Corny Complex (Apples)
  • Farmer Steel's corn crops northeast of Corny Complex (Corn)
  • The woods within Weeping Woods (Shield Shrooms)
Farmer Steel's abundant corn makes for a quick set of five foraged items.
Farmer Steel's abundant corn makes for a quick set of five foraged items.

For this quest, you'll need to collect five foraged items. Just remember that these challenge areas become hotspots for other players in the early hours of challenge-hunting, so watch your back if you're going for this one right away now that the Week 4 challenges are live. Foraged items are fruits, veggies, and fungi found in the dirt rather than in chests or produce boxes, thoguh historically, Fortnite has shown some inconsistency with what actually counts as foraged. In this case, heading to any of the above spots should net you your five foraged items quickly.

In terms of story, this challenge seems to confirm our most recent suspicions. Farmer Steel has neither been abducted by aliens nor stashed away by the IO. He's gone underground somewhere, waiting out the war with his stash of food. Who else is with him? When will he return? Does he get Wi-Fi down there? These are all questions we can't yet answer, but the farmhand's importance in the plot of Fortnite has been on the rise since last season when he was among the first to suspect something was awry with the island due to someone or something messing with his crops.

When you're done chasing challenges, don't forget to also grab the Week 4 Alien Artifacts, which will appear on the island starting on Thursday. They refresh every Thursday too, so grab them while you can.
