Now Playing: Fortnite Update Adds Flint-Knock Pistol, New LTM, And More - GS News Update

Fortnite's updates keep on coming, and now we've got yet another patch to keep us entertained in our battle royale excursions. Version 8.11 is live now on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and mobile, bringing with it a new weapon and another limited-time mode. Here's a breakdown of what awaits you, besides the new Week 4 challenges.

The new weapon is named the Flint-Knock Pistol, and it looks powerful. Developer Epic Games says the gun does up to 90 damage at close range, but it suffers from "significant damage falloff" at range and needs to be reloaded after every shot--a process that takes three seconds. The Flint-Knock Pistol uses Heavy Ammo and can be found in floor loot in Common and Uncommon rarities.

Notably, the gun causes a knockback effect to the person firing it. Provided the enemy is close enough, it will also knock them back, too, although the exact distance is dictated by how close the two of you are to one another. The knockback for the shooter might be desirable in some cases, but if you want to avoid it, you can crouch before firing--this prevents any knockback.

One Shot is Fortnite's latest LTM, meanwhile. This mode enables low gravity and restricts player health to just 50. Sniper Rifles and Hunting Rifles are the only weapons available, while Bandages are your only help if things go wrong.

Elsewhere, the Impulse Grenade has been unvaulted and seen its strength against vehicles increased by 344%. In fact, all explosive weapons have had their impulse strength against vehicles increased by 233%. Finally, The Baller's spawn rate has been halved and the Scoped Assault Rifle's base damage has increased to 27/26 from 24/23.

With this patch now out, as noted above, Week 4 challenges are now available in Battle Royale. One of these was initially bugged, preventing players from completing it, but that issue should now be ironed out. You won't find any especially challenging or complex challenges this week; your most difficult task might simply be tracking down The Baller, the recently added vehicle.
