Former Call Of Duty Boss Lists Bel Air Mansion For Astronomical Price, See Inside

The house that Call of Duty built.

Call of Duty veteran Dave Anthony, who worked on the series starting in the early 2000s and later helped create the Black Ops franchise, is selling his California mansion. Anthony has listed his mansion in Bel Air for a cool $26.995 million.

The home spans about 9,000 square feet and sits on about .7 acres in the luxurious neighborhood of Bel Air. It's a three-story, seven-bedroom home made of white brick and limestone, featuring hardwood floors with wood shipped over from German's Black Forest. The home also boasts a soundproof office that has a room hidden behind a bookcase.

Anthony and his wife Betim bought the property in 2010 for $3.5 million, but back then, it was a smaller, older home originally built in the 1940s that had leaks. Anthony told WSJ Real Estate that he decided to tear it down and rebuild. The new home as it stands today was completed in 2022.

It has a gym, a wine cellar, a billiards table, a home theater, an infinity pool, a fire pit, and other luxurious touches. You can see photos of the home on Zillow.

As for Anthony, he has been a lifelong gamer, even though his mother told him at a young age, "You're never gonna learn anything by playing video games." Anthony was born in Liverpool but relocated to Los Angeles where he worked on the early Call of Duty games. His big moment, though, came with 2010's Black Ops, which he directed and wrote. He would go on to write and direct the sequel as well.

"I was earning really incredible amounts of money and very fortunate to do so," he told WSJ.

After he left Activision in 2013, Anthony started the gaming studio Deviation Games, but it just recently closed up shop and now Anthony is "pursuing a new challenge professionally."

As for the Call of Duty series, this year's entry in the main series is rumored to be Black Ops Gulf War. The game could be shown off in June after the next Xbox showcase.
