Fortnite: Dancing Thanos In Marvel Movies Is Better Than Infinity Gauntlet Mode

Thanos busts out some dance moves.

Fortnite recently introduced Thanos into the mix, and he's both quite fun to play as and hilarious to watch, thanks to his ability to dance. That's now served as the inspiration from some stellar online videos that bring him into the Marvel movie universe.

Battle Royale's latest limited-time mode, Infinity Gauntlet is very cool: Rather than the typical shake-up the game sees, it allows one player to become Avengers: Infinity War bad guy Thanos and run wild on the competition. It's a fun twist on Fortnite--albeit one that can be frustrating if you can't actually get your hands on the Infinity Gauntlet--but those who have been lucky enough to play as Thanos have found he's capable of emoting. And that doesn't just mean he can point or wave--he can eat popcorn or, as noted above, dance.

Now Playing: Testing Out Nerfed Thanos In Fortnite's Latest Mode

It's the latter which has served as the inspiration for a new video shared by Reddit user IsaacDaKing, who I believe has gotten more than their money's worth from their video-editing software. The video shows dancing Thanos edited into the background of the big showdown from Guardians of the Galaxy, where Star-Lord dances in order to distract Ronin. After munching on some popcorn, Thanos gets in on the fun by busting out a dance of his own.

This followed another video shared on Reddit by user bignoof. That one brings popcorn-eating Thanos into the iconic Matrix-style shot from The Avengers, where the camera circles around our group of heroes as they look out at the enemy force that awaits them (i.e. a massive green screen). Whereas they look concerned, he seems to be enjoying the whole situation.

Fortnite's Thanos mode is only around for a limited time, although developer Epic has not shared an end date as of yet. It has said not to expect any Marvel or Avengers skins, although who knows what the popularity of the event could lead to. Epic has had to step in and nerf Thanos already, as he was deemed to be too powerful--he's very difficult to kill and does a huge amount of damage. By slightly weakening him, the hope is to give more players the opportunity to wield the Infinity Gauntlet.

The mode debuted not long after the start of Season 4, which came as part of the broader 4.0 update. That made some significant changes to the map, bringing an end to the speculation around the comet. Players have since uncovered a secret hatch that may signal the game's next big mystery.
