Flynn's Adventures Hands-On Impressions

We give In-Fusio's strange, new platformer a look at E3.

Comments

If Flynn seems familiar, it’s not only because of its 2D platform premise. The elf-driven action title actually began as a Super Nintendo game but was ultimately not released. The game was resurrected when Cybiko joined up with In-Fusio late last year.

The graphics are more impressive than anything available on the SNES, and the dark, intricate design is comparable to Ghosts ‘n Goblins. The controls were a bit sticky on the previewed version, particularly when forward-jumping over flames and other obstacles. However, firing was tight, and the deadly throwing cards tossed by the hero always landed where intended.

There are a total of five levels, all split into three stages that conclude with a big boss. The enemies vary from animated flying flames to evil orcs.
