Tech magazine Wired on Monday published the first images of Orgrim, a computer-generated orc featured in Legendary's upcoming Warcraft movie, and they do not disappoint.

Orgrim was designed by award-winning Star Wars effects studio Industrial Light and Magic. Designers there used concept art provided by Blizzard Entertainment and photos of actor Robert Kazinsky to develop the stunning-looking creature.

The Warcraft movie combines live-action and CG. Director Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) explained to Wired why Kazinsky was a good match for the role of Orgrim.

"We were looking for someone who would be able to perform the gruffness, the humor, and the toughness of this character," he said.

Talking about the Warcraft movie's use of special effects last year, Jones said the film is "Avatar and Lord of the Rings at the same time."

After multiple delays, the Warcraft movie is now scheduled to open June 10, 2016. It also stars Clancy Brown (Spongebob, The Shawshank Redemption) as Blackhand and Dominic Cooper (Need for Speed, Captain America) as King Llane. For more on the movie's cast, check out this story.
