First Trailer For Get Out Director's New Horror Movie Is Terrifying

I got five on it.

Jordan Peele's next horror movie is just right around the corner, and since his last film Get Out was such a huge success, Us should be on everyone's "must watch" radar. Today, on Christmas Day, the very first trailer was released for the upcoming film, which releases in March.

In the first trailer, which you can see above, the movie follows a family who goes on vacation. They quickly find themselves being stalked by a deranged family. However, these psychopaths has something peculiar about them. They look exactly like the people they're hunting.

Us stars Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, Winston Duke as Gabe Wilson, and Elisabeth Moss and Tim Heidecker as members of the Tyler family. The film also features Yahya Abdul-Mateen II from Aquaman and Anna Diop from the DC Universe streaming series Titans.

Additionally, Peele has more in store for fans in 2019, as he's producing and hosting CBS All Access' new Twilight Zone. So far, we've only seen a teaser for the new show, and the only other information that's been released is that Marco Ramirez (Sons of Anarchy, Daredevil) will serve as writer and showrunner.

Us comes to theaters on March 19, 2019.

It looks pretty interesting and so far more intriguing than Get Out. I'll be looking to it.

Yup, as figured. Scroll few comments in and nothing but race war. He already said this film isnt based on race rather has a black family as central focus. The internet is the worst.

@twashington8: Yep. These are also the same people that get upset when a white character turns black and they tell them to make "their own things." Then when they do it becomes "overrated" if it turns out to be really great.

You're kidding, right? As a horror movie aficionado, "Us" doesn't look scary at all. And in 90% of cases, the trailer says pretty much everything about how the movie actually turns out.

I enjoyed Get Out, but to me it felt more like a 90s era dark comedy than horror.

Get Out was not in the least overrated. It was a total work of art.

The attention to detail, the unpredictability of the story, the freshness of the subject matter, the writing, the performances, the pacing, the intrigue, the violence, the characters, the simultaneous insanity and groundedness of it, the atmosphere, the blending of genuinely funny and genuinely scary.

There was not a single thing about that movie which was not polished to a shine,

and I'm just not interested in the opinion of anyone who says it's not good, because they probably just have a problem with black people. Yeah. I said it.

This director is amazing, and that is why people are excited for his new film.

I won't say it will definitely be good, because I haven't seen it, but I see no reason why it wouldn't be.

@naryanrobinson: So anyone who didn't like Get Out instantly has a problem with black people?

I liked Get Out, but I think it was a black comedy, (NO pun intended), mislabeled as a horror movie. I also thought the pacing was a bit all over the place.

Now crawl back in your hole while the rest of the adults try to have a real conversation.

I especially like how you wrote your comment,

realised that my entire argument was that people who don't like it can never tell you why,

then went back, edited it, and added a bunch of made-up criticism so you didn't look like a fool.

@naryanrobinson: I went back and edited to indicate what I didn't like about the movie since I noticed that you claimed that no one called out what they didn't like about it. I also mentioned that I DID like the movie, but it had some issues.

If you claim that anyone who doesn't love Get Out is making their decisions based on race reasons, then there is simply no chance of having any kind of intelligent discourse with you.

@aross2004:

And if you can't start using your brain, then you're right, you won't be able to have intelligent discourse with me, or anyone else for that matter. Just a big old self-righteous circle jerk and everyone will feel just lovely about themselves.

So I'm going to break it down for you:

Of the massive number of people who saw Get Out, a very small number disliked it.

Of the people who disliked it, damn near all of them cite its “SJW” content as being the reason.

Let me just juggle the phrasing of that for you:

Their problem with the movie, was the black people in it. They didn't like the movie cause it had black people in it. If it was a white person movie, they'd have been fine with it, they're upset that it contains black people.

They're telling you that directly. It's not rocket science. It's not existential philosophy. It's high school English. All you have to do is read it.

Therefore, my statement, “People who don't like it, probably have a problem with black people”, isn't even an opinion, it's a statistical observation. No extrapolation necessary.

It really seems the problem is that no one has the balls to use their own brain these days. Everyone just picks up on a key word or two and jumps in to save the day in accordance with whatever sounds vaguely sophisticated or modern. I doubt most people even make it to the end of the sentence.

If people are willing to tell me what part of Get Out didn't live up to their expectations, I'll hear it.

How about this:

You tell me why you think Get Out has so much hate and so little criticism.

Because you know as well as I do that criticism is the internet's favourite pastime.

If no-one presents me with explanations, don't get surprised when I draw my own.

@naryanrobinson: So, anyone who didn’t like Get Out is a racist? Because, that’s what you’re basically saying. Which is completely absurd and evident of your bias towards specific political ideology that provide’s no serious basis, just assumptions and (unproven) guilty assertions. You’re entire point is irrelevant when you make such claims. People dislike movies and their racist? Laughable statement.

@revanxknight: Yeah, pretty much.

I've got my own brain and I'm allowed to use it to put 2 and 2 together and I really don't care if you don't like it.

I'm open to the possibility of someone not liking it for some other reason, but gee those people seem to be awful quiet.

Oh sure, plenty of people hate the movie, but isn't it interesting that no one ever says why. Check the comments here, and check them on YouTube. Where's the guy who disliked Get Out without mentioning the words “black people” or “white people” or “SJW”? Hmm? Where is that guy? Why is it that every other bad movie has people all over the internet talking about how and why it sucked, but with Get Out wow those people sure are few and far between now aren't they hmm? And gee the “in-depth analyses” of these post-mortem reviews sure doesn't seem that in-depth. And wow a lot of those people sure are angry that this movie is about a guy of a particular skin colour, don't you think, hmm? I'm so sorry those people didn't like it. Perhaps they would've preferred a horror movie where the entire plot is “chainsaw guy chainsaws guys” and the majority of the dialog is “AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!1!”. Maybe Get Out's horror just didn't achieve those people's lofty standards for horror movies.

Hmmm?

When I hear some actual criticism of the movie, I'll review it and decide. Until then, open your eyes.

@Bread_or_Decide: I liked Black Panther, but there was definitely a bunch of flaws with it.

The CGI was sub-par, the story a little contrived,

and unlike GetOut, when you ask people to tell you their problem with it, they do.

@naryanrobinson: Your’re extremely arrogant and unaware of how wrong you are, classic sociopathic/narcissistic behaviour. Notice how nobody agrees with what you’re saying? I don’t have to back up anything I’m telling you because you’re proving it to me and everybody else who can see what you’re typing. Your deflections are weak and you basically just say what I said to you back to me like an immature child. Clearly you have nobody in your life to tell you otherwise so I guess you get extra sensitive during the holidays. I hope things look up for you buddy but with that attitude it’s very unlikely.

I just love your definition of “right”: agreeing with everyone else. Says it all really. How shallow.

But I'm glad you gave up your front of just looking out for your fellow man, when really you're just here to throw insults and make yourself feel better. Saw an opportunity to stroke your ego and jumped on it. I wondered how long it'd take for your true colours to come oozing through.

“I don’t have to back up anything I’m telling you”

Exactly. The liars always have an excuse.

Like I said, a pseudo-intellectual poser. Off you go kiddo.

@naryanrobinson: The fact that you actually believe the clear delusion that you’re spouting is both hilarious and horrifying. I mean, wow. Your head is so far up your own a** that you seriously believe that someone who doesn’t like a movie you do is racist?

I’ve watched Get Out. And I did not pay for it. I am not a fan of Daniel Kaluuya’s acting nor the pacing that was used in the film. It has nothing to do with race. I’m not going to pay money or otherwise support something that I don’t like. There are plenty of people that are exactly the same.

You browse Gamespot and Youtube comments to snuff out, apparent, “racists”. Sure, you’re going to come across actual racist people, but to simply put everyone who didn’t like it in the same group with them? You don’t see comments from normal people who disliked the film for various reasons because it’s not worth a normal persons time to argue with obvious keyboard warriors whose only intent is to claim “racism”. Simply put, your opinion doesn’t matter. Your thoughts are insignificant to other people at the end of the day. There is absolutely no reason to feed your politically motivated, trollish, behavior.

Which, ironically, brings me to my last point. You’re neck deep in your delusions and are not worth conversing with. Because, your opinion is meaningless to me. Call me a “racist” all you want. My dislike of the movie will not change. Just as my days will continue to go on completely normal and without a wasted breath to your opinions.

“Open your eyes.”? Lol... Open your mouth and throwback some anti-psychotics.

Well aside from you getting so defensive around the idea of calling someone a racist,

if 90% of everything you say is just going to be an uninspired, childish, snarky, sarcastic imitation of me, at least do it properly by learning English first.

Or alternatively, you can learn how to make your own original argument like an adult, and be as linguistically inept as you like.

Thanks.

@naryanrobinson: “Defensive”? You’re typing away calling random people racist because they don’t like a movie that you do and they never claimed it was for the actors’ race. I’m not getting defensive, I’m telling you that you’re clearly in need of some mental help.

“Uninspired, childish, snarky, sarcastic”... Lol, let’s continue on with the hilarity, I suppose. I need to “learn English” and you need to learn how to be told you’re wrong. You may have been raised with the mindset that the world works for you, but I assure you it’s quite the opposite. And no one in your personal life seems to care enough to point out that you have some obvious problems.

I made my own argument... But, ok? Thanks buddy boy ?
