The Behemoth, developer of Alien Hominid, Castle Crashers, and Battleblock Theater, has released the first trailer for its next game, Pit People.

Previously known as Behemoth's Game 4, the project is described by its developer as a "fast-paced, turn-based, co-op adventure where players will explore, quest, find awesome loot, customise their fighters, and recruit strange species."

In the lead up to PAX 2015, The Behemoth has released a short trailer showing off gameplay, as well as some of the very strange creatures players will encounter in the game--including some sort of six-legged bear from space.

There's also a hint at the game's narrative, but it's all rather confusing. Watch the trailer below.

Pit People is currently scheduled for release on Xbox One and PC. A release date has not yet been confirmed.

The Behemoth has a history of giving its projects lengthy development times. It's previous title, BattleBlock Theater, was first playable version at events in 2009, but the game didn't ship until 2013. So it may be a while yet before it is available.

Also in development at the studio is Castle Crashers Remastered for Xbox One. The re-release will upgrade the original side-scrolling brawler with textures up to five times larger than the original, an uncapped framerate, and other "improvements to gameplay and online multiplayer."

Castle Crashers Remastered will also include a new mini-game called Back Off Barbarian, which is described as "a simple but addicting mini-game where players move quickly using the D-Pad to avoid the enemies."

The Behemoth explains further: "As time passes, more enemies are added into the level and the players will find it harder to get around in the environment. Up to 4 players can be supported online or offline."
