First NBA 2K14 next-gen screenshot

2K Sports releases first official screenshot for next-gen version of pro basketball game; gameplay trailer coming next week.

2K Sports today released the first official NBA 2K14 next-generation screenshot, showing off cover star Lebron James. The image contains a PlayStation 4 logo, suggesting it was captured on Sony's next-generation console, not the Xbox One.

A 2K Sports representative confirmed with GameSpot that the screenshot was indeed captured on PS4.

NBA 2K14 will be released on PS4 and Xbox One as a launch title for those platforms next month. The game been "built from the ground up" to leverage the capabilities of the next-generation platforms, 2K Sports said.

The first NBA 2K14 next-generation gameplay trailer will be released next week. The game launched earlier this month on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. For more, check out GameSpot's review of NBA 2K14.

@zerofrust 3d graphics have gotten to the point where only enthusiasts can really appreciate the leap. To the everyday gamer you'll notice it looks somewhat better but cant tell what it is exactly.... But in reality.. there is a huge difference. Perhaps when everyone gets to play their favorite game series with next gen and realizes just how immersed in the game they feel. Its all about the immersion.

FIFA is a great game, but as sports sim goes NBA 2k has better simulation value than almost anything I've ever played. Its the only game I can play with real quarter length and actually possibly get a realistic score. Basketball just lends itself to video game simulation better than most sports, in my opinion of course.
