UK-based Prey Digital Studios is currently developing Stung!, a first-person action title in which players assume the role of an insect. The story of the game begins in a military research facility that was first used to explore the possibilities of using insects as weapons of war. When the Cold War ends, the top-secret research station is abandoned.

Players begin the game as one of six different highly trained and heavily armed insects, and they must fight their way through a variety of realistically modeled environments that are based on familiar locations. Among the hazards players will face are hordes of gun-toting enemy insects, steaming kettles, flypaper traps, spider webs, and bug spray. Players will be able to fly and move in full 3D to avoid hazards and access hidden areas where special weapons and gadgets might be found.

There will be 12 main locations, and each location will be divided into two or three sublevels. According to the developer, these sublevels will still be large areas with objectives that have to be completed correctly to progress to the next stage. Of course, enemy AI will get tougher in later levels, requiring the player to become accustomed to the strengths and weaknesses of the various weapons that become available.

While the team is currently busy at work on the PC version, the game is also intended for release on the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. A publisher and a release date have yet to be announced for the game.
