First look: Rugby

Electronic Arts brings the sport of Rugby to the PlayStation 2.

Comments

Electronic Arts has released the first screenshots from its upcoming PlayStation 2 game Rugby. The game is based on the PC title Rugby 2001 and features all the primary strategy and rules involved in the sport. Rugby will include 20 international teams and more than 600 players, including several up-and-coming young stars. Players can compete for the Tri-Nations, Six Nations, and ultimately the World Championship. The game will feature 23 authentic stadiums, including locations such as Murrayfield and Twickenham. Full play-by-play commentary will be provided by seasoned Rugby announcers Bill McLaren and Jamie Salmon. On the visual front, real-time weather effects will have actual bearing on the game, as footing and ball handling will be affected.

Rugby will be released this summer for the PlayStation 2.
