TDK Mediactive has released several new details on its upcoming Robotech game for the Game Boy Advance. The game will take the form of a side-scrolling shooter, in which players can assume the role of four different characters from the series--Rick Hunter, Roy Fokker, Maximillian Sterling, and Miryia. Each character pilots a valkyrie fighter that can assume the form of a regular fighter jet, a bipedal robot, or a hybrid of the two. Players will also be able to buy various types of upgrades for their valkyrie by earning credits during battles, which occur in a number of different places, ranging from the wide-open skies to the insides of a Zentradi spaceship.

Robotech: The Macross Saga for the Game Boy Advance is scheduled for release this summer.
