First look: DuelField

Sismoplay's turn-based strategy game will let players compete head-to-head in online duels.

French game developer Sismoplay is working on a turn-based online strategy game called DuelField. In the game, players will assume the role of deities, and they will fight one-on-one duels against other players over the Internet. The object of the game is to control as many creatures as possible and pit them against the creatures controlled by other players. Creatures gain strength and experience from every battle.

The deities featured in the game are made of pure energy, and their goal is to become the most powerful deity. To reach this goal, they control different types of creatures, each of which has a unique set of powers, abilities, and characteristics. The creatures fight in a series of one-on-one duels, and the game is over when one deity has destroyed the opposing deity's army. Players gain control points by winning duels, and those points can be used to acquire new creatures or improve the strength and powers of the creatures already in their army.

The game features prerendered 3D graphics with hundreds of animated scenes. The developer has taken care to ensure that the game will run on a wide range of systems and will not require 3D hardware acceleration.

Sismoplay is now accepting applications for DuelField's upcoming beta test. For more information, visit the official DuelField Web site and watch the video trailer linked below.
