London-based publisher SCi Entertainment Group has announced that it will publish a tactical-action game based on the Gulf War sometime next year. The game is titled Conflict: Desert Storm, and it will give players the chance to take part in the 1991 war against Iraq. It is currently in development at Pivotal Games, a UK-based developer formerly known as Pumpkin Studios, which developed the 1999 3D strategy game Warzone 2100.

Though little is known about Conflict: Desert Storm at this time, the screenshots that have been released show off some detailed character models in several 3D environments. The game will also feature several types of equipment and vehicles, including helicopters, fighter jets, and SAM sites. We'll have more information about the game as it becomes available.

Conflict: Desert Storm is scheduled for release sometime in 2002.
