Acclaim has today released the first gameplay details on the GameCube and Xbox versions of ATV Quad Power Racing 2, an off-road racing game currently in development at UK-based Climax. The game will put players in the driver's seat of powerful quad bikes, and in addition to racing, it will allow them to perform more than 30 different freestyle tricks along with other moves designed to knock opponents off their bikes.

Players will be able to choose from 10 real-life professionals, the same number of fictional riders, and 11 different bikes. Up to six or eight quads will compete in races simultaneously on the GameCube and Xbox versions, respectively, and although the GameCube and PS2 versions of the game will support only two players in the game's three different multiplayer modes, the Xbox will support up to four. In all, the game will feature 15 different tracks set in locations all over the globe, along with two freestyle stadiums.

ATV Quad Power Racing 2 is scheduled for release early next year. We'll bring you more information on the game as it becomes available.
