First Look At Colin Farrell's The Penguin TV Show Revealed

The fowl-tempered crime boss will rise in the ranks of Gotham's underworld in the new Max series.

Max's The Batman spin-off focusing on one of DC Comics' most iconic villains, the Penguin, was forced to take a hiatus from filming due to the Hollywood strikes, much like almost every other production out there over the summer. Now we have confirmation that cameras are set to begin rolling again next week.

Empire Magazine reported the series will "pick up days after where The Batman ended, exploring the moves that Cobblepot makes in the power vacuum left by Carmine Falcone’s departure." Falcone was played by John Turturro and set up by the Riddler (Paul Dano) to get killed, with unknowing assistance from Batman (Robert Pattinson).

In addition to the update, Empire posted our first new look at Farrell, with slick new duds. Check out the image below.

This will be the Penguin's first solo series, and feature a slew of who's who of Gotham's crimeworld including Cristin Milioti as Carmine's daughter Sofia Falcone; Michael Zegen as Carmine's son Alberto Falcone; and Clancy Brown as rival mobster Salvatore Maroni--who famously attacks Harvey Dent with acid, turning him into Two-Face.

Max's Penguin series will consist of eight episodes and be written and helmed by Lauren LeFranc with The Batman director Matt Reeves serving as an executive producer.
