Data Becker has released some new screenshots from its upcoming real-time strategy game America. The game takes place in post-Civil War America, and it places players in the lead of one of four different character groups: the settlers, the Native Americans, the Mexicans, or the desperados. Each character group has unique military and economic strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to settle, conquer, defend, explore, and build on the land on more than 15 different 3D maps. More than 40 missions are included in the game's four single-player campaigns, and the game's multiplayer mode supports up to eight players. Through the course of the game's 90 historically accurate post-Civil War years, players must make a wide variety of decisions involving strategic battle, troop management, horse breeding, trade, building construction, and even theft.

For more information about the game, visit the official Data Becker Web site or download the playable demo linked below.

America is scheduled for release on February 1, 2001. The game will only be available for online purchase.
