Fire Emblem burning up Japanese GameCubes in April

Nintendo firmly dates the return of its long-running magic strategy series to consoles.

TOKYO--According to the latest issue of weekly Jump magazine, Nintendo's Fire Emblem: Souen no Kiseki will be released for the GameCube on April 20 in Japan. No official price or firm American ship date has been set for the game.

Coincidentally, April 20 marks the 15th anniversary of the Fire Emblem series since its first installment on the Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1990. Since the Fire Emblem series hasn't been released on a home console since the SNES days, Souen no Kiseki will be the first time that a Fire Emblem title will be featured in 3D graphics. Souen no Kiseki will feature a new class of warriors called the "Juu-ga zoku" ("Beast Fangs"), a group of demihumans with the ability to turn into beasts.
