Firaxis Adds Another

In a continuing round of growth that's recently included new programmers and artists, Firaxis Games announced today that Mike Gibson has joined the company as director of development. He is coming from a position at Disney Interactive as director of creative resources. Firaxis, now 30 members strong, is celebrating its fourth year of game development. The company's efforts are now focused on the upcoming Civilization III and Sid Meier's Dinosaur game.

"We are exactly where we want to be in terms of the depth and talent of our group, and Mike Gibson has the management and production experience to help us continue to deliver top-notch games," said Jeff Briggs, president and CEO of Firaxis.
