After Fruits Basket's second season concluded this week, the 25th episode revealed that the final season of the anime is set to premiere in 2021. An official air date has not been announced as of yet.

Titled Fruits Basket the Final, the season will premiere on Japanese networks such as TV Aichi, TV Osaka, and TV Tokyo. It's unclear if or when Fruits Basket the Final will stream in other regions.

Season 2 of Fruits Basket debuted on April 6 in Japan and continued throughout the summer. Anime distributor Funimation is currently streaming the English dub of the show. It's likely Fruits Basket the Final will air on Funimation as well, though when still remains to be seen. The second season of the anime is also available subtitled on Crunchyroll and VRV, and eventually, it will land on Hulu, according to Decider.

Fruits Basket is a new adaptation of the popular '90s rom-com manga written by Natsuki Takaya. This rebooted series is a faithful recreation of the entire manga series and features a new cast that differs from the 2001 original anime run, a decision requested by Takaya herself. The series follows an orphan named Tohru Honda as he tries to save the 12 Soma family members who are possed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac.
