This game has one of the most memorable piano intro music of all time that I can think of.

It was the first mainstream Final Fantasy game to have voice acting as far as I know. It was also the first time a mainstream Final Fantasy title had other composers aside from Nobuo Uematsu working on the title. The other 2 composers were Masashi Hamauzu and Junya Nakano.

The file size is pretty big but you have to keep in mind that it's both FFX and FFX-2 included in the total file size. It still seems bigger than it should be however.

I feel I'll be picking this up eventually. I just have to be careful with getting too many big games since my hard drives only have a few hundred gigabytes left at this point.

@Dark_sageX: I just wish FF12 never existed. Here is to hoping they don't hold FF7 remake hostage for PS4 sales.

@Bastion00: They will...but whatever its fine, by the time they announce the PC version it will be the complete FF7 Remake collection including all DLCs (yes, there WILL be DLCs) so I'd just take a back seat and enjoy the rest of PC gaming, if you are anything like me you probably have hundereds of games on your log that you have yet to finish much less touch lol.

@Bastion00: Its a prediction, and a 100% guaranteed one at that, there will be pre-order bonuses and DLCs, it wouldn't be square enix otherwise.

40GB for a remaster of a 2000 game which fit on one DVD? The Vita version fits on 4GB.

What are they adding to it that is taking up this much space?

The game doesn't even look all that good. It's clear it was a PS2 game.

@Etagloc: 1. No shit sherlock, that's what I called it. It's a remaster that uses mostly the same assets with very minor improvement. It looks like a PS2 game running on a PC emulator.

2. That isn't the point. The question is why? The originals took 4GB each. Remastered? Yeah, but the graphics are still low res textured and look crap compared to modern games. There is no way these games justify 40GB. Far better looking games with far bigger worlds and environments take up far less space than these two games. I want an explanation on what is taking up so much space.

3. is that even an issue, like for anyone? 40 bg.. like? who gives a flying.

I'm guessing you're still using a mechanical hard drive. To someone with an SSD, 40GB is huge. It would be justifyable if the game was big and had good graphics, but this world is small, and it looks like a PS2 game running via PCSX2 in HD. They 'remastered' the graphics, but don't kid yourself. These graphics do not look even remotely modern. Even an ugly looking native PS3 game (PS3 not PS4) looks better than this.

Plenty of last gen games that use up 8GB on DVD destroy FFX Remaster's graphics. GTA, Resident Evil, Mass Effect, Red Dead, Dead Space, etc, take your pick. These games are much much smaller and look 10 times better.

If they need 40GB for this, they are absolutely amateur porters.

Having a bigger HDD doesn't justify it or excuse it.

Now, do you want to go into the system requirements, and why far better looking games from last gen run on less demanding hardware than this?

@lostn: No I use both an ssd AND a standard HD, just like everyone else. I install major games like the witcher 3 - doom etc. on the ssd and other random games/movies on my cheap storage HD.

sure 40 gb is alot, but I dont see the problem in 2016, who can't find 40 gb of free space? is that even an issue NO one uses ONLY SSD's,

well you might find some hipster who think his 250 gb ssd is the bomb and will not install a cheap storage device cause REASONS.

@lostn: Not to mention the specs are high for a game that old, the geforce 9600GT should be the recommended spec for the game, not a GTX 450. Not that it matters me to me tbh, I have 2TB free space on my PC and plan to add an additional 3TB simply because its cheap and I have an empty SATA slot.

It's good that more people can get to enjoy FFX/X-2 as well as that awkward scene, and probably the best battle system in the whole series.

@dorog1995: There is always a reason to go back haha, I played the game twice and that was over 7 years ago, I wouldn't mind going back for another journey (though I won't be doing that for a while, have too many games to cover in my steam log, have yet to even finish Final Fantasy 13, let alone the other 2 sequels, FF8, FF9, then there is Rise of the Tomb raider and ugh to many to list lol)

@xantufrog:It is not an awful scene it's really clever in a story sense, character development and the voice acting.

Yuna learns how to whistle from Tidus. Tidus leans how to laugh from Yuna. Yuna mentions the need to always be happy and carry on which is a reference to ganbare. They than use Tidus as a vehicle to display the absurdity of showing such a open display of emotions in Japan. Yuna asks him to stop. The laughter starts off laboured and false and than they look at each other and laugh naturally.

It was intended to sound goofy that is the entire point of the scene. They want to show Yuna and Tidus fooling around with the acceptance of the rest of the group looking at them. It shows an a final acceptance of Tidus into the group that protects Yuna.

@randybumgardner: I understand the good story basis for the scene. I've played the game several times and like it a lot. But I still think it's awful in how it was done. This is largely due to the voice acting

Forgive me for saying it but seriously FFX-2, what even is the point of that game?

Just a feminist orgy which detracts from the true spirit of FFX.

@Keitha313: Agree the girl focus may not be for everyone, as the charlies angel's was en-vogue at the time.

But what the game does offer is a nice story, great combat, ton of depth, and some of the best and most challenging fights, and secret boss fights in just about any rpg of all time- bar none.

The true spirit of FF is high lighted in ffx-2 international more so then any of the ff13 games and far above its peers out at the time. Good time to delve deeper, you may enjoy it, least your afraid it will turn you gay.

@gamingdevil800: not really. the thing is when the game first came out charecter only had like 7 animations they would use while talking in cutsences. then theres the fact that they just dubbed over the orginal japan version, so mouth movement was unrealistic. it was a great game and in all hoest one of the best they made.
