Final Fantasy IX Date Confirmed

Square Electronic Arts has announced November 14 as the official launch date for its PlayStation role-playing game Final Fantasy IX. In the game, players assume the role of Zidane as he and his friends set out to vanquish Brahne, the evil Queen of Alexandria. There are a total of eight controllable characters in the game.

"Anticipation has been building for the next installment in the Final Fantasy series," said Jun Iwasaki, president of Square Electronic Arts. "Now fans of the series have only three weeks to wait before they enter the completely new world Final Fantasy IX offers."

Since its Japanese release on July 7, Final Fantasy IX has sold approximately 2.8 million units.
