Tetsuya Nomura, the Japanese artist responsible for creating characters in the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises, has unveiled a reimagining of iconic villain Catwoman. Nomura created the design you see above for Square Enix's Variant Play Arts Kai toy line.

Just like Nomura's Batman interpretation before it, the Catwoman design, though clearly based on the popular depictions of the character, takes things to the extreme. It doesn't appear to be an entirely functional get-up, however, as her mid-section is left fairly exposed.

It is unclear when Nomura's Catwoman design will go on sale, but Square Enix is expected to provide more details this week during New York Comic-Con in New York City.

In September, Nomura announced that he was stepping away from his role as director of the long-in-development Final Fantasy XV to focus on Kingdom Hearts III.
