Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi may reveal his next project in 2017. In an interview with 4Gamer, as translated by DualShockers, Sakaguchi said the plan right now is to reveal this project next year, though he did not share any specifics about when the game will be revealed or what it is.

Sakaguchi now works at Mistwalker as its founder and CEO. His team is working on a console version of the mobile game Terra Battle, while Mistwalker announced a technology partnership with Bravely Default company Silicon Studio for a new project back in February.

As Siliconera points out, Sakaguchi has also spoken about opening a new "development-type" company, though whether or not this ties in to the new game is unclear.

We'll report back with more details about Sakaguchi's new game as they're made available.
