Final Fantasy 14 Content Coming to Phantasy Star Online 2

Fight Odin and dress up like a FF XIV character in PSO 2.

Despite being competitors in the online RPG space, a collaboration between Phantasy Star Online 2 and Final Fantasy XIV has been announced.

During a Phantasy Star event in Japan today, Sega and Square Enix revealed the first details of the new partnership, Famitsu reports (as translated by Siliconera). This will see FF XIV-themed content added to PSO 2, starting with the addition of Miqo'te outfits and other items, as well as Odin, who will appear as a new boss character this summer. Some of the new additions can be seen in the video above, as well as in the images captured by 4Gamer.

As of yet, there's no word on whether FF XIV will see content added from PSO 2.

While FF XIV is available worldwide, PSO 2 remains a Japan-only title. There are ways for English-speaking players to access it, but Sega has offered no official means for playing the game. A PlayStation 4 version of the game is expected out in Japan (where it's currently available on PC, Vita, and mobile) sometime this year. There's still no word on an international release of the game.
