Fighting game festival comes to Melbourne
Melbourne fighting clan CouchWarriors announces a fighting-game tournament and social event for March 31.
If you're into fighting games and you live in Melbourne, you may want to mark March 31 down in your diary. Today, the Melbourne-based social group CouchWarriors announced its first Fighters Festival for the year, kicking off at the end of this month.
While the idea of a fighting-game competition may sound a bit daunting to some, Couch Warriors is hoping that Fighters Festival is just as much a social event as it is a pro gaming tournament. In order to help keep non-competing players entertained, Couch Warriors will be hosting giveaways and special training sessions to help people improve their skills throughout the day. In total, eight games will be playable at the event, ranging from Street Fighter X Tekken to Super Smash Bros Brawl.
Couch Warriors is also teaming up with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra to host qualifying rounds for a special tournament. Players who qualify will then play SoulCalibur V live on stage before the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra’s Video Games Unplugged: Symphony of Legends concert audience.
