FIFA 16 Drops These Features on Xbox 360/PS3

This year's pro soccer game from EA Sports doesn't include these features on last-gen systems due to "console limitations."

As a result of "console limitations and available resources," the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of FIFA 16 will not feature some of gameplay features and modes found in the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC editions. EA Sports announced the news this week in a blog post.

The full list of axed features--which isn't very long--is available below. EA Sports has also confirmed that commentator Jeff Stelling has been dropped from all versions of FIFA 16.

Features cut from FIFA 16 Xbox 360/PS3 include:

  • Creation Centre
  • Custom Music and Chants
  • The FIFA Interactive World Cup (available on PlayStation 4 & Xbox One)
  • GameFace
  • In-game presentation with Jeff Stelling (also removed from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC)
  • Match Lobbies
  • Secondary English commentary with Clyde Tyldesley and Andy Townsend

Although FIFA 16 on last-generation consoles will be missing some features, that's not to say it's an incomplete product. It still comes with 13 modes, including Career, Be a Pro, and Women's International Cup for the first time. In addition, last-gen players can also look forward to a long, long list of gameplay refinements and improvements in the areas of dribbling, tackling, and shooting.

Check out this blog post for a complete rundown of what's available in FIFA 16 for last-gen systems.

A FIFA 16 demo is available today on Xbox One and PS4 ahead of the game's release date on September 22. For more on FIFA 16, check out the list of the game's top-rated players.
