Popular indie adventure Fez will be released on Steam on May 1.

A listing on the Steam website revealed the imminent PC arrival of Phil Fish's intriguing puzzle platformer. No price or pre-order options are currently given on the Steam listing.

Phil Fish said in January that Fez would be coming to "other platforms" this year.

Fez was originally released on Xbox 360 in April 2012, and was awarded an 8.0 in its GameSpot review. "Fez has pitfalls you have to accept if you're going to enjoy this adventure," said reviewer Tom Mc Shea at the time. "Technical problems, baffling map design, and obtuse puzzles can serve as a serious barrier to entry. But it's worth putting up with the missteps for the wondrous adventure that awaits. Fez goes far deeper than the simple platformer it initially appears as, and figuring out the solutions to the many puzzles is an experience that harks back to a time when games weren't scared of taking off the leash and letting you run wild. Invest time in Fez's colorful world, and enjoy the wealth of incredible ideas buried within."

Fez sold over 100,000 units on the Xbox 360, though a dispute between Fish and Microsoft's certification process means the 360 version retains a bug that may cause save files to be wiped.

Can't wait to play this, especially after watching that silly Indie Game documentary. Phil Fish seemed like the only one of the bunch who actually cared about making the perfect game and not just stroking his own ego. As much as I loved Braid, I'm glad I played and beat it before I had learned anything about the guy behind it. With Fez the man's obsession just makes me want to play it all the more. Bravo!

@ivan_osorio Nope. I totally understand becoming frustrated by perfection. The man is an artist.

I love FEZ. It's such a great game. I don't agree with that reviewer at all but I am glad it's going to be on PC as well.

Yeah! Played the demo on 360 and loved it, haven't had a chance to buy it because I just really dislike that you have to buy points to buy the games on XBLA, and the points are usually outrageously priced. Hopefully this'll be on 10 or 20% sale when it comes on steam but definitely getting this anyway.

@Stebsis

How are points outrageously priced? All points are is a form of currency in which 80 points =$1. That is about as idiotic as saying the Euro is overpriced. And FYI, you actually spend less money when purchasing with points because sales tax is NOT charged whereas if you were to by a game with a credit card you would be charged sales tax which is why whenever I buy a Games on Demand title I always buy it with points instead of a credit card directly.
