Ferris Bueller Star Alan Ruck Reveals How Much Money He Was Paid

Actor Alan Ruck appeared in one of the most well-known, often-quoted movies ever, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and now he's revealed how much money he was paid for the role of Cameron.

"I made $40,000," Ruck told Jimmy Kimmel. "It was my first big part in a movie; they're gonna find any excuse not to pay you."

The movie, which also starred Matthew Broderick in the lead role, was released in 1986. The film remains very popular to this day. Whether or not the actors receive residual payments isn't immediately clear.

Ruck currently stars on HBO's hit drama Succession as Connor Roy. Also in the Kimmel interview, Ruck explained that the reason his character was wearing an arm brace in the latest episode was that he suffered a rotator cuff injury in real life and the writers wrote it into the show.

"Like a dumbbell, I tried to shovel some snow, and I felt it pop," Ruck said. After some time waiting, Ruck was told he needed to have the injury treated, and so he called Succession creator-writer Jesse Armstrong and they worked out a way to write Ruck's injury into the show.
