FaZe Ewok Comes Out As Trans

The Fortnite streamer celebrated National Coming Out Day with the news.

Earlier this week, FaZe Clan's Ewok announced on Twitter that he was transgender and bisexual, using the occasion of National Coming Out day to share his news. The announcement was received with messages of support from FaZe Clan and Ewok's fellow streamers.

Ewok shared his news through a TwitLonger linked in a tweet that simply read "coming out."

"I want to be open about it and educate people but feel comfortable with myself," the post reads. "I never felt right in girl body and struggled. When I was 11 years old, I dressed up like a boy and grabbed some of my little brother’s clothes. I took pictures. For past eight years, I never was truly happy with myself and struggled."

FaZe Clan and its other members have shared messages of support, though Ewok has acknowledged that transitioning in his position was never going to be easy. "I know the transition and stuff will be tough for me. I am nervous as hell," he wrote. "This is huge especially I am in FaZe and first transgender guy in T1 esports organization. There are not many trans people on organizations."

Ewok has over 314,000 followers on Twitch, as well as 140,000 subscribers on YouTube. He joined FaZe in mid-2019 and later in the year was one of the top-level streamers to sign exclusively with Mixer. He moved back to Twitch following Mixer's shutdown, after being offered an exclusive deal with the streaming platform where he first built his audience.
