@xenogearz88 I hope you do not use the internet, buy items at any store using a debit or credit card, or give any personal information to any business. You may think facebook is sleezy selling your "personal" information; however, I would be willing to bet every other company you interact with sells every piece of information they have about you too.

This is mind numbing, mostly because idiots actually pay money to zynga for this kind of rubbish. I suppose it serves us right that we see so many worthless games on the market.

casual/social gaming sucks, and especially Farmville. Glad I cancelled my Facebook account.

Facebook = crap Facebook and other social network sites like it are nothing more than a cheap way to advertise you and your private life to strangers all over the world for no reason.heck, the only ones who stand go gain anything from this sham are unscrupulous bastards who use Facebook to look for suckers for their scam by stealing your identity and messing your private life. ....so again, i have to ask, WHAT THE HELL DO PEOPLE SEE IN FACEBOOK AND SOCIAL NETWORK SITES TO JUSTIFY RISKING THEIR PRIVATE LIFE AND EXPOSING YOUR PERSONAL STUFF TO RANDOM STRANGERS EVERYWHERE FOR NO VALID REASON??!!

As someone who has never played Farmville, what exactly do you do? Is it like Harvest Moon or something? I guess giving people something to do while waiting for facebook updates is serious cash.

Looks like it's only a matter of time before they start buying out companies possible like EA.

That's alot of money compared to how much each console that comes out from companies like Sony,Microsoft,Nintendo and the unknown companies.

It's frightening there are enough of those people (that even play farmville and it's ilk) to make this possible...

In the end, Zynga will become so monstrously huge that it buys up all the other game companies and turns all franchises into casual games; DeadSpaceVille, Battlefield Bad Company Cafe World, StarCraftVille etc etc.

I think Farmville is more stable than Medal Of Honor. So that's kind of fair. lol.

$10 says that before the end of the year, either Activision or EA try to buy Zynga.

These games are fine and all in moderation, like video games or anything else, but for Zynga to surpass EA this quick scares me as to how many people spend such time on in front a computer. This does not bode well for our race...

This is the most facepalm worthy thing I have seen in a while.

Good now maybe EA will step up their game, nothing like a little competition to get folks moving, and if losing out to games like this doesn't stick in their Craw after decades of game development I really don't know what will.

I play ZooWorld (free) and more than happy with it. That's a good Facebook game.

Doesn't really surprise me. Most gamers forget about the other 80% of people looking for electronic entertainment. I think gaming an enjoyable experience and don't see why I should hog it while ridiculing those that only enjoy or might only have time for casual gaming. There was a market for it and Zynga took a slice of the pie, simple enough. This doesn't mean that EA or larger companies are dying...that's a ridiculous thought. It just means the entertainment medium is expanding. This also doesn't mean my games are any less fun. They can play Farmville and have fun. Right now I'm going to hit up some Undead Nightmare.

There is nothing stopping EA from trying to get into that market.. Farmville is an anomaly..because of where the game is played. There will always be a place for triple A FPS, RPG's, and Strategy games.

The bombshell that casual gaming is bigger than hardcore gaming. Move and Kinect head in that direction.

sadly, i think gaming will eventually turn into this casual gaming in the future, and i don't think that will be fun. (or maybe i will go and get alot of cheap games and be able to play those) I can see the iphone becoming where big games are developped. (just look at gameloft)

I really never understood why they made a game that suits 6 yrs old on a social network site that requires you to be 18.. But this developer is worth more than EA? Thats just wow..

My Stepmother, Grandmother, Cat, Cousin, Nephew, Atari Lynx, and Imaginary Friend all love to play Farmville. I refuse to create a FaceBook account, so I have no idea how lame this game is. I only know that if they all play it, religiously, it must be the smartest idea for a game in the last decade (monitarily speaking).
