Far Cry 3 director's next game Child of Light coming in April

Final Fantasy inspired RPG coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and PC.

Ubisoft has announced that Child of Light, the watercolour RPG influenced by Final Fantasy and developed by Far Cry 3 director Patrick Plourde, will be released for download on April 30.

The title will cost $14.99, and will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Steam.

In Child of Light, players take the role of Aurora, who is working to restore the kingdom of Lemuria by recapturing three sources of light and defeating an evil Queen. The game features an active time battle system, and a second player can join in as Aurora's firefly ally Igniculus.

Child of Light is also powered by Ubisoft's UbiArt Framework, the same engine behind Rayman Legends.

The game was unveiled back in August as part of GDC Europe 2013.
