Bethesda has announced a lot of ambitious changes coming to Fallout 76 in the wake of its massive Wastelanders expansion. In addition to a recent patch that added some long-awaited quality of life features to the game, the studio released a roadmap for upcoming content drops that revealed the addition of season-pass style progression that gives players unique, time-limited rewards. As it turns out, you won't have to pay for these new content seasons.

After this announcement, some fans took to social media and the Fallout 76 subreddit to express concerns that Bethesda will soon introduce paid DLC to the game. Today, an official Bethesda Twitter account clarified that these new Seasons will be free to all players. However, in the revised blog post announcing Seasons, Bethesda notes that it's looking into adding bonus rewards for Fallout 1st subscribers--a premium monthly membership for Fallout 76 players--but not in this first season.

Now Playing: Giving Fallout 76 Another Shot

In addition to the big changes forecast by the content roadmap, Bethesda has indicated that it may soon add pets to Fallout 76. Last month's large Wastelanders update introduced human NPCs and quest givers to the game, which many fans have requested since the game's launch.
