Speaking today at the 2016 DICE Summit, Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim director Todd Howard was asked directly about what Bethesda Game Studios is working on next. Beyond continued support for Fallout 4 (three expansion packs were recently announced), Howard teased that the company has a few "longer-term" projects in the works.

"We have three longer-term projects we're doing that are all...we'll talk about them at a much future date," he said. "But they're different than anything we've done before while also being a Bethesda-style game; big and crazy. But in many ways different than things we've done before."

Also during his talk, Howard brought up Bethesda's recently established studio in Montreal, saying the team there is working on mobile projects "and other things." It's possible one of the "longer-term" projects Howard referenced is in development there, but this was not confirmed.

Asked if one of Bethesda Game Studios' upcoming games rhymes with "Fallout 5," Howard just laughed. In December, Howard teased that Bethesda has "lots of ideas" for future games, though at the time he did not provide any specifics, only that he was interested in making big games like Fallout 4.

Howard also shared today during his talk that Fallout 4 has a secret that he thinks no one has discovered yet. As you might have guessed, he wouldn't give much away, but teased that it's related to a Terminal.

Bethesda (the publisher not the developer) will hold its second-ever E3 briefing this June in Los Angeles. The company hasn't said what it will talk about or show off, but the announcement contained references to Fallout and The Elder Scrolls.
