It's an interesting feature, but unfortunately, Microsoft revealed a little more than three weeks ago that it would not be included on the discs that gamers buy at retail. For Lionhead's part, Microsoft said that the studio was diligently at work to release the patch that would enable online co-op for North American audiences sometime during the first week of Fable II's release.

Today, Microsoft said that Lionhead has delivered, and the online co-op feature will be available as a free download alongside the game's North American release tomorrow. With the game's October 24 European release looming, the publisher noted that the patch will be available to audiences worldwide.
