F-Zero 64 In Sight
The sequel to the classic SNES racing game zooms away from Nintendo's veil of secrecy.
Nintendo 64 gamers have been hearing about it for a while - a sequel to F-Zero for the 64-bit system. Until now, not much has been known about the game. Now, less than a week before the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Atlanta, a first glimpse of the game in action is possible.
As you can see from these pics, the game looks very similar to the original - the futuristic cityscapes are flat and square. The tracks, however look amazing: loops and quick curves are everywhere. One can only imagine how fast the game runs (a reported 60 frames per second).
Creator Shigeru Miyamoto has been quoted in the Japanese press that the game would employ a four-player competitive mode. It will probably be very similar to that of Star Fox 64 and Mario Kart 64.
