Responding to disappointment of dedicated Outpost hackers, Dynamix has released the first of three scenario packs to extend the playability of its Outpost 2: Divided Destiny.

Divided Destiny did not include a level editor to the dismay of some Outpost enthusiasts. But Dynamix, a division of Sierra On-Line, heeded the masses' call.

Releasing the first pack earlier this week, with the next two to follow at one month intervals, Dynamix has developed three new maps for each pack.

Dynamix is promoting the expansion packs with a sweepstakes through January 15, in which the grand prize is a Pentium computer, and first prize is a Meade Telescope, to, you know, "see the other players on other planets," said Kate Kloos, Dymanix product manager.

The new multiplayer maps will automatically update when players log on to SIG sites.
