EverQuest's Silver Screen Future?
Rumors claim that Verant's addictive massively multiplayer RPG could be heading for the movie screen.
Verant Interactive's EverQuest has been popular since it released to those looking for interactive RPG adventures. This morning, Ain't It Cool News (a popular site for news and rumors in the film industry) reported that negotiations were currently taking place to bring the game to the movie screen. GameSpot News contacted a representative for Verant, who wouldn't comment on the rumor. Considering Verant's close ties with Sony - Verant is a spin-off from 989 Studios, which is a spin-off from Sony - the deal is a distinct possibility.
But one question remains: What kind of movie would you make from an online-only massively multiplayer RPG?
