Everquest Preorders Strong

Everquest, 989 Studios and Sony's multiplayer role-playing game, is still a week away from hitting retail store shelves, but its creators are already touting it as a record breaker. Everquest has recorded more pre-sell orders on EBWorld.com than any other PC game, Sony says. More than 8,000 gamers have reserved a copy of the game, according to 989 Studios, and 989 estimates that number will top 10,000 copies by the time the game ships.

Gamers will be charged a monthly access fee of US$9.89 per month (above what they'll pay for the game itself) to play Everquest.
