Even More Game Of Thrones Spinoffs Are Being Developed (But May Never Happen)

HBO is developing three further Game of Thrones prequel spinoffs, according to The Hollywood Reporter and Deadline. These are in addition to the Dunk and Egg series and others in the works.

One of the new projects has the working title 9 Voyages, and it comes from Rome creator Bruno Heller. This prequel focuses on Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as The Sea Snake, who will make an appearance in the House of the Dragon spinoff as well (Steven Toussaint will play him on that show).

Another one has the tentative title 10,000 ships, and it tells the story of the queen Princess Nymeria, a "revered ancestor of House Martell who founded the kingdom of Dorne."

"Her story is set roughly 1,000 years before the events in Game of Thrones, making it much older on the Westeros timeline than any of the other previously announced projects in the works," the report said.

The third potential Game of Thrones spinoff idea is one that takes place in the King's Landing slum of Flea Bottom. This is where Gendry Baratheon and Davos Seaworth were born.

These are only ideas for new shows at the moment. HBO has only officially greenlit House of the Dragon, which recently added to its cast and is expected to begin filming soon.

Before House of the Dragon another Game of Thrones spinoff reached pilot stage, with Kingsman writer Jane Goldman acting as showrunner and Naomi Watts cast in the lead role. However it wasn't to be--in October it was announced that although the pilot had been shot, HBO wouldn't be moving forward with the series.
