Ubi Soft Entertainment has today announced that musician and movie actress Eve--whose credits include the albums Ruff Ryder's First Lady and EVE-OLUTION and the movies Barbershop and XXX--will play the role of Major Jones in XIII. Eve will lend her voice talents to the character, who is described as a beautiful yet mysterious woman who helps players to unravel clues behind the game's story.

"XIII is a true original--the most stylish game I have ever seen," Eve said. "When I saw the game, I knew I wanted to be involved. My character, Jones, is a strong, sexy female with attitude--my fans will easily relate her to me."

XIII is a cel-shaded first-person shooter based upon a popular European comic book series. The game will see players assuming the role of a man with amnesia who wakes up on a deserted New England beach with a bullet wound to the head and the Roman numerals XIII tattooed on his chest. The plot of the game--and of the comic series it's based on--focuses on a conspiracy inspired by the assassination of John F. Kennedy, although the names of the persons involved have all been changed and the events take place in the 1980s rather than the 1960s.

"Eve is the perfect person to play the role of Major Jones," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing at Ubi Soft Entertainment. "She has a combination of style, sexiness, and attitude--perfect attributes that describe the Jones character. Having a hot personality like Eve involved in the game enforces what the gaming community has been shouting all year--XIII is the coolest action shooter in 2003."

XIII is currently scheduled for release later this year. For more information, check out our previous coverage of the PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube versions of the game.
