Nokia has today announced the results of its European N-Gage Challenge tournament, in which around 150,000 players from 16 countries competed for the title of N-Gage Champion of Europe. The climax of the contest in Paris last week saw 16 finalists competing on Tony Hawk's Pro Skater for around four hours before Eric "Xentrix" Riedel from Germany was eventually named the winner. Riedel, a 15-year-old student, was previously named the national N-Gage champion of Germany when he won the N-Gage Challenge in Leipzig earlier this year.

"It was great to see the first-ever winner of the N-Gage Challenge. The gamers got completely hooked playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater, and the chance to take on the best players in Europe was fantastic," said Christian From, senior marketing manager for Nokia mobile phones in Europe and Africa region. "To become the first-ever European N-Gage Champion must be amazing, and I'm sure the winner can't wait to defend his title next year."
