Sega currently has a pair of Aliens titles in development. Gearbox Software is handling Aliens: Colonial Marines and Creative Assembly is at work on an unannounced series entry. However, it appears Sega has also commissioned a third Aliens game, this one for the DS.

A side-scrolling Aliens game is on the way, says the ESRB.

According to a recent classification by the Entertainment Software Rating Board, a T-for-Teen-rated side-scrolling franchise game called Aliens: Infestation is on the way for Nintendo's portable.

Though not yet officially announced by Sega, a rating by the Australian government from May indicates that WayForward Tech (Batman: The Brave and the Bold, A Boy and His Blob) is handling development of the game.

The ratings description states that Infestation will have players controlling a space marine squad as they run and jump through side-scrolling levels. Additionally, the listing indicates players will "use rifles, pistols, flamethrowers, and explosives to kill enemy soldiers and aliens (i.e., 'xenomorphs')."

A Sega representative told GameSpot, "We won't comment on this one."
