Epic Games' new project, Fortnite, was nowhere to be seen at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, but the game will have a presence at Comic-Con 2012 next month. The Cary, North Carolina-based studio announced today that it will hold a panel titled "Epic Games Presents: Fortnite Revealed" during the annual Southern California gathering.

On Thursday, July 12, at 10:45 a.m. PDT, Epic Games design director Cliff Bleszinski, producer Tanya Jessen, and lead artist Pete Ellis will convene to offer panel attendees a world premiere of Fortnite gameplay. According to the description of the panel, the developers will also talk about inspirations for the project and how the game is "taking Epic Games in both a classic and all-new direction."

Fortnite was officially announced in December during the 2011 Video Game Awards via a brief teaser trailer. Few details on the project are available, but based on the video, the game will represent a major departure from the art style of the company's past projects like Gears of War and Bulletstorm.
