Nintendo has today announced that Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire fans in the UK will be able to get their hands on the legendary EON ticket for one day only next month. On February 21, players armed with their Pokémon Ruby or Sapphire games and their GBA consoles will be able to visit any of 30 participating Gamestation stores and download the EON ticket via a link cable.

Before they can receive the EON ticket, players will need to have collected five badges by defeating gym leaders. Once the ticket has been uploaded to their game cartridge, players will need to travel to Petalburg City to meet their father, who will hand over the ticket.

The EON ticket can only be used once players have defeated the Elite Four and the Pokémon League Champion. With the ticket they'll be able to take the SS Tidal ferry from Lilycove City Harbor to Southern Island, where they'll encounter either Latios or Latias, depending on which game they're playing. Latios and Latias are powerful Dragon-Psychic Pokémon that carry an item called Soul Dew, which is unavailable anywhere else. It boosts both the special attack and special defence powers of any Pokémon holding it.

Once players have downloaded the EON ticket they'll be able to share it with around 100 of their friends using a link cable, if they wish. For more information on Pokémon Ruby and Pokémon Sapphire, check out our previous coverage of the games using the links above.
