Enix and Tri-Ace Team For New RPG

Tri-Ace, well known for its Star Ocean series, recently announced a new RPG for the Sony PlayStation, to be published by Enix. Entitled Valkyrie Profile, the game's story is based on Norse mythology.

Players will take control of a valkyrie to collect and raise souls of dead mortals. These souls are then sent to battle against the gods in Valhalla, but players must raise them properly since they'll have no control over them during the battle.

Valkyrie Profile's battle system will incorporate a unique new style where each button will be assigned to one of the player's characters - pressing combinations of buttons will cast combination attacks. Valkyrie Profile is currently slated for a winter 1999 release in Japan.
