Empire of the Ants goes gold
Players will control a colony of insects in Strategy First's latest real-time strategy game.
Strategy First has announced that its latest real-time strategy game, Empire of the Ants, has gone gold and will arrive in stores next month. The game lets players command a colony of ants, and they must oversee the management and expansion of the colony. Players will build up their armies, collect food and building materials, and guard their anthill against attacks from enemies.
Empire of the Ants is based on the popular novel of the same name, and it features more than 60 types of insect species interacting in a real-time 3D world. In addition to the single-player campaign, the game includes multiplayer support for up to eight players over a LAN or Internet connection. A previous version of the game was released in Europe, but the North American version includes additional units, enemies, and areas to explore.
Empire of the Ants was developed by Microids, and it is scheduled for release on July 10. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
