Nintendo added three new games to its list of North American Virtual Console offerings today, as the company announced the availability of Elevator Action, Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, and Sword of Vermilion on the Wii's downloadable game service.

Originally an NES port of the arcade classic, Elevator Action for the Virtual Console lets one or two players sneak their way into high-rise buildings and steal secret documents en route to the parking garage for a flashy getaway. Along the way, players can shoot enemies, jump kick them, crush them underneath (or above) elevators, or drop light fixtures on their heads with a well-placed shot. Elevator Action sells for 500 Wii Points ($5).

Released for the first time in 1991, Super Ghouls n' Ghosts was a Super Nintendo installment of the infamously challenging Ghosts n' Goblins series. Main character Arthur's beloved is once again kidnapped, and it remains up to the brave knight to take on an army of monsters with lances, daggers, and crossbows in order to rescue her. Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts is rated E for Everyone (despite the fact that Arthur frequently appears in his underwear) and sells for 800 Wii Points ($8).

Wrapping up this week's downloadable Wii release roundup is Sega's action role-playing game Sword of Vermilion. As the 18-year-old son of a slain monarch, players must take revenge by overthrowing the wizard-king Tsarkon, saving the world of Vermilion in the process. Sword of Vermilion is rated E for Everyone and costs 800 Wii Points ($8).
