Elder Scrolls Online voice cast is seriously impressive

Sorry, I don't really care how famous these people are. Many ACTUAL voice actors do a much better job and are much less expensive to boot. Putting "a-list" celebrities stunt castings in your game does not a good game make.

ESO is the best. period. End of story.

Playing it now. Addictive. New. Fresh.

And it's not about button mashing. You actually have to think.

WOW worshippers can just leave. Better for everyone.

Also, why does every broke azz individual feel the need to hate on games with a monthly sub?

I prefer a monthly sub because then I am assured of:

- A sharp decline of annoying 12 year olds

- No constant, annoying, inconveniencing "tricks" to get my money. You already have it.

I am also not so unrealistic to think servers and bandwidth pay for themselves. These things must be maintained and new content must be made!

I literally HATE this breed of human being.

If you are too broke to pay for a simple sub....just don't play please. The rest of us will be happy without you.

That's very impressive, though I am curious. Am I going to spend a lot of time listening to AI voiced by these actors? Is this a MMO or a single player game with group dungeons and some PvP?

Michael Gambon was super easy to pick out while playing. Great cast overall.

...and let me guess, the dialogue will still be just as awful as it's been in all the previous voice acted TES games.

Bad dialogue, even when voiced by prominent people is still bad dialogue. (also, tedious and boring gameplay is just that, tedious and boring)

I still get shivers when thinking about the dialogue in Oblivion and Skyrim and having watched one or two TESO videos (could barely stand these) it's only gotten worse.

These "famous" actors won't save you, this is merely a money sink for a generic and boring fetch-quest / healthbar smasher / subscription based microtransaction been there, done that MMO that's abusing a franchise name.

I wonder who the target audience for this is because the Morrowind / Oblivion / Skyrim fans have no interest in this and neither does the casual gamer / MMO crowd. (besides the braindead masses .. wait, I think I just answered this myself)

I'd like to know how much it cost them to hire those voice actors which speak a few lines of text and are then never heard of again, with the remaining 90% of the game being voiced by Jeff the janitor and Jill the cleaning lady or no dialogue at all.

Wonder how much this inflated the budget. This is totally going to be the Tortanic 2 Electric Bugaloo. No way around it, right down to hero engine.

Impressive list of voice actors. Cleese, Nighy,McDowel and Lynda Carter(I miss wonder woman) are great choices. I am pretty sure at least one of them has an oscar(Molina).

I have always wanted to like RPGs and every game from Bethesda Softworks looks incredible. Somehow, I just can't get into them and it actually bums me out, because I see the high level of quality in these games.

The voices seem to fit the roles fairly well. Just fail to understand why they have to get such high budget actors, surely there's other cheaper actors out there who could do an equally good job.

The problem with using Bill Nighy in a game is that he's so much more entertaining if you can see the looks on his face when he acts.

<< LINK REMOVED >> I think the the British accents work very well for these games. Just sounds more 'authentic'. Somehow American accents just don't work as well for this genre in my opinion.

This is cool, my biggest complaint about oblivion and skyrim was the bland and recycled voice acting. It's too bad the actual game isn't much fun. Perhaps I was too quick to judge but after several hours in the beta, I was bored to death. Hopefully they make the game more fun.

Not sure how I feel about this. Certainly a great array of actors, but probably not worth the fees they're paying. Though Malcolm McDowell is doing extremely terrible Sprint commercials lately, so who knows. Maybe they're working on the cheap.

Big names, ridiculously low "screentime" tho... At least for Mr Cleese... Shame.

OK, so it's fun to recognize a famous actor's voice in a game, but in my opinion it's not necessary. Let screen actors act on screen; don't take jobs away from equally -- or more -- talented voice actors.

Thats all great but that's what Bethesda always does, hires a few big actors and then the rest is done by what sounds like the same three voices.

By the way people the first month is Free! This seems to be a common misconception.

True but like most other games there only fun for the first month. This looks worth 60$ to me but definitely not the monthly fee afterwards, so I would play the first month and wait a couple after for an expansion which would then be worthy of another 15$ lol.
